Visiting Disney World it’s such a fun vacation for your family, but it can be tiring and expensive as well. Many people will come back on the vacation and say “I need a vacation from my vacation,” and it can be especially true for a week at Disney. Just because you’re spending a week in Orlando, it doesn’t mean you need to be in a theme park for 12 hours a day each day you’re there.

Disney Springs, the newest part of Downtown Disney is a great way to spend an afternoon after the pool without paying the cost of admission. If you’re staying at a Disney resort, hop on one of the Disney busses and enjoy a little bit of a slower paced evening to recover before another day in the park. Filled with shops and restaurants you’ll find yourself entertained Disney style during your visit. For entertainment, they also have performers and activities in the area. For a fee you can take a hot air balloon ride, go bowling, catch the latest movie, take a ride in the lake in a car, and so much more! There’s also free entertainment throughout the area. With so much to do there, I always prioritize an afternoon into evening having a relaxing time sipping on some wine and enjoying the beautiful sunset.

There are two restaurants I always have to visit every time I go. Jock Lindsey‘s Hanger Bar is great for a snack in the Indiana Jones themed bar. You can even sit out back on a boat! They have some fun drinks to try, and their flatbreads are divine.

My next favorite stop is Boathouse for dinner. You can sit either inside, outside, or out on the water at their dock bar. This really is the best for the sunset. All of their food is delicious and our go to‘s are the bang bang shrimp appetizer and a burger, paired with wine of course.

If you’re craving Italian food head to the “secret“ underground bar at Enzo’s Hideaway. The retro themed Italian decor and food makes for a nice intimate evening.

For more of a show, visit The Edison later in the evening and grab a table. From acrobatics to musicians you’ll enjoy your evening well eating bacon as an appetizer.

From Lilly Pulitzer to Under Armour to a Sprinkles Cupcake, there are plenty of shops to explore if you want to do a little shopping. I’ve been known to buy a pair of Sperry’s for a fun day at Disney Springs.

You’ll enjoy all of the many different food options and a nice seat to take a little bit of a breather after all of your excitement in the parks.

If you are ready to book your next trip to Disney World, I’d love to help you plan it!

Happy Travels!
